…but why?

Why exactly do credit card companies send out emails during the holidays if they aren’t going to give you something? I mean sure saying happy holidays is nice but don’t make the subject of the email “We appreciate you!” if my loyalty isn’t making you pay my bill as a gift or give me enough reward points to buy one of those bundles of wine that contains 30 bottles. The subject of the email should say “we are not giving you anything we just want you to know it is almost Christmas…pay yo bills”.
